Dr. Boulet was recognized by the Hubbard Award Committee for his considerable impact within the field of assessment.

“In a career spanning more than 25 years, Dr. Boulet has been devoted to assessment in medical education, which he has pursued with outstanding expertise. His studies, often in collaboration with NBME and other institutions and researchers, helped to support the validity of USMLE® and various specialty board certification examinations. His body of work is known throughout the world.”

Impact
John has a particular interest in the scoring of performance assessments and has made an impact investigating the validity of scores on objective, structured clinical examinations and mannequin-based simulations.
He holds numerous positions, including Senior Scholar in the Department of Medical Education, College of Medicine, at the University of Illinois; Adjunct Faculty at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine; and Senior Research Consultant for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

She holds numerous leadership roles, both within and outside her specialty, and has received several other awards, including the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Education Award.

Dr. Lipner was recognized by the Hubbard Award Committee for her enormous contributions to research in assessment and her considerable skill as a scientist.
